Egypt A Gift Of The Nile

The ancient Greek traveller and writer Herodotus described Egypt as 'the gift of the Nile'. Which it certainly is. The river is the lifeblood of the country and the fertile Nile Valley is its main artery.

A cruise on the Nile is a high point and most tourists will book themselves on one of the thousands of boats that sail down the river and visit the ancient temples of Aswan and Luxor, where the country's best preserved monuments stand tall and erect. Philae, Edfu, Karnak.

Egypt is a delightful mixture of tradition, with a kaleidoscope of socio-economic stratas. The poor, the rich and the old rich who are seriously wealthy. But the characteristic that links the majority of Egyptians, is the immense pride they show in simply being Egyptian!

Cairo is the hub. The city has everything - fancy hotels, quality restaurants, super shopping, traffic jams! It also offers a great lifestyle. Golf under the watchful eye of the Sphinx , sailing in a felucca, or riding a stallion in the desert with the pyramids in the background! Cairo has got life and a soul too.

“There's plenty to look, see, feel, touch in this country. Go, discover Egypt" says FARZANA CONTRACTOR who spent a week basking under the Egyptian sun. But till you do, check out what UpperCrust has for you.
