malaika Malaika Arora-Khan, besides being a model, is an immensely successful and popular veejay. She burst into films dancing atop a train with Shah Rukh Khan in Dil Se to set men's hearts racing with Chaiya Chaiya. But cooled off producers who haunted her door with more film offers by getting married.

You're gorgeous, you're a VJ and model, you're fit - and you love to eat. We're shocked!
Yes, it's shocking, considering as a child I was a fussy eater. My mother would want to strangle me. I'd always take a seat from where I could chuck my food out of the window. I did that for years. And now I'm so crazy about food, I'm constantly thinking of my next meal!

You're kidding! What do you like to eat?
Anything spicy. My mother is South Indian and my father, Punjabi. Our meals always had this blend. But I prefer, and love, South Indian food. Just the smell of rice being steamed, drives me wild. It turns me on!
Rice!
Umm-huh, I rarely eat rotis. And my mother's fiery red fish curry made in an earthern pot... it's to die for. There's also biryani. My mother-in-law makes it to pamper me.
What else...
Thai! I like its coconut base. I've taken to it in a big way. I like the delicate spices that you can identify, and the taste of the herbs.

How often do you pig out on Thai food?
Not as often as I'd like to... but still, at least three times a week!

Is it a struggle to keep in shape?
I work out... simple. Aerobics and a dance routine. Lucky me, I'm blessed with a high metabolism. Besides, I don't drink or smoke.

No diet foods?
No way, no soups and salads too. I need wholesome meals.

What else is taboo?
Sweet stuff. Also, no capsicum and bell peppers for me.

Surely some sweets?
Well, I need to have something sweet after every meal. But not chocolates and ice-cream. I prefer mithai. Mmmm... I could forget myself over gulab jamun.

What do you eat when you are shooting?
Yuck, there's no choice. It's unit food - oily and unhealthy.

Anything turns you off?
Yes, pastas. Hate it!

Any other cuisine you like to eat out?
Gujarati. I adore their thalis. I use my fingers and food really, really tastes different when you do that. Especially when I lick my fingers at the end of the meal!
