No culinary story on Kerala would be complete without mention of Mrs. K.M. Mathew, matriarch of the Malayala Manorama group, who was known for making cooking an art. In her lifetime, she wrote 25 books on cooking, most popular among them being Flavours of the Spice Coast, from which these recipes have been reproduced.
